A – No. The core Refurbify application is software-as-a-service and is accessed using a standard web-browser via the web. We host the software and all the associated data in a secure data-centre and make it available to authorised users upon demand 24/7. We have mobile applications that can be downloaded to your mobile device, and these provide tools to capture site information, inform site operatives, and to provide status updates. However, the outputs from mobile devices will generally be captured in the Refurbify cloud service.
Q – What mobile devices are supported by Refurbify?
A – We provide applications for users of Apple iOS devices (Smart Survey App and Evidence of Use App) and Android devices (Evidence of Use App). Additionally, authorised users of these and other mobile devices can also access the core Refurbify platform via their mobile browser (so long as they have an internet connection, of course).
Q – Is my data permanently held in the cloud?
A – We will maintain it in the cloud for as long as you need active access to it. At the end of a project, however, you can download an archive of the information for your record purposes.
Q – How secure and reliable is the Refurbify service?
A – We deploy industry-strength internet security protocols to manage user access to data. Data is restricted to authorised users with valid login and password credentials (clearly it is the individual’s responsibility not to share these), with information access rights also managed according to a user’s role on a project. For example, some site-based users will only have access to the job information they need at their location.
Refurbify is hosted by Amazon cloud and we have a service level agreement in place guaranteeing minimum levels of service availability and speed of access. In the event of a system breakdown, our provider has back-up systems in place, and all information is also mirrored to an off-site facility in case of a catastrophic loss of service.
